So many of my friends have new babies that will be under six months old at Christmas! The biggest question is what to get a new baby that really doesn’t need anything. Many suggest diapers and wipes. Or putting money into savings and suggesting family and friends do the same. With your first child, this really isn’t a bad suggestion! However, if this is not your first little one, older siblings will notice the lack of gifts baby is receiving.
As a mother of soon to be five, I compiled a gift guide of developmental toys that your child will enjoy in the upcoming months and with no other holidays around the corner, now is the perfect time to purchase them and wrap them up under the tree!
Here are a few items that made it on my list:
Hatch Light
This little machine is amazing! If you forgot to add it to your registry, now is the perfect time to go ahead and grab one as a gift. Hatch Light can be used as a sound machine, night light and in the future an okay-to-wake clock. You can control the sound, volume, light color and brightness all from your phone. The adjustable light brightness is perfect for those in the middle of the night feeds and for diaper changes.
Roll and Glow Monkey
This awesome toy will encourage your little one with rolling around, sitting up and crawling! As your child is working on these developmental milestones, (s)he will enjoy the lights and movement as well.
Baby Einstein Rhythm of the Reef Prop Pillow
My two youngest learned to crawl using this little Einstein pillow. Great for tummy time! And it has a few toys attached. Another great tummy time toy is a floor mirror like this one!
Fat Brain Baby Toys: Squigz and Dimple Baby Toy
Both squigz and this dimpl baby make great toys for your little one as they safe for baby to chew on. Squigz are suction toys that can be stuck to one another or your little one can use them to teeth on. Dimpl baby is great as it works those little finger muscles pushing the silicon circles in and out.
Manhatten Beads
Thesee beads are such a fun manipulative both for babies and toddlers. For babies who are just learning to grasp these are the perfect size and they can chew on the beads without worrying of chocking. For toddlers these beads are perfect for fidgeting and for play.

Baby Einstein Glow and Discover Light Bar
Two new toys I purchased for my 2018 baby that I decided were worth holding on to for any future babies are: the crawl around bumble bee and the baby eistein piano bar. Both these toys are great to use as your child is enjoying tummy time, learning to roll over, sitting up or crawling!

This fun activity cube. Fun Fact: my 2016 baby learned to pull herself up using this toy!
Little Tikes Activity Garden Baby Playset
This playset is great for your little one to pull up on and to crawl around. Three is a newer version I plan to purchase for my 2020 baby, it is called Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Smart Learning Home.
Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Crawl Around Car
My younger two loved this crawl around car. It was used while they were learning to pull up, climb over and crawl around. It was probably one of the bulkiest toys that stayed out the longest because it was so loved.
Leapfrog Learning Safari Playspace
This toy was brought to my attention in recent months and I plan to make it an Easter present for my 2020 baby. It can be used for a long time! It’s called the Learning Safari Playspace.
